Generally if you know you are allergic to bees and wasps, you should not own an Emperor Scorpion. ffects of this scorpions' natural defenses may vary between people. Housing requirements Enclosure: A 5 1/2 Gallon Aquarium is a suitable home for 1 adult Emperor Scorpion, however a 10 Gallon Aquarium would be a much better home. Multiple Adult Scorpions (3-4) can be housed in a 20 Gallon Long Aquarium. Temperature: 75 to 82° F. This can be achieved using a basking spot lamp, or an under the take heating pad. Humidity should be between 70% - 75%, this can be achieved by daily misting of the aquarium and a portion of the screen cover being blocked off to keep humidity in. Light: No special lighting is required, although a black light is fun to use at night. Scorpions cannot see the black light and there bodies will actually glow in the dark. A Flourescent Aquarium hood can also provide an impressive looking display for your Emperor Scorpions home. Substrate: For substrate Exo-Terra Forest Bark is the best solution for your Emperor Scorpion. Many people like to use potting soil, the problem with potting soil is Emperor Scorpions like to dig and will get the potting soil all over its body if your scorpion is fully grown and will not molt again, this will stay on the scorpion untill it dies. So by using the Exo Terra Forest Bark you can still achieve a natural looking habitat for your Emperor Scorpion as well as allow it to burrow. The Exo Terra Forest Bark also helps with the humidity levels in your Emperor Scorpions home. Diet: Crickets, Mealworms and Superworms are the best foods for your Emperor Scorpions.
